The Equipment
In addition to the standard equipment, the Ascona A was available in two further equipment variants (Luxury and SR).
It was possible to equip the cars with optional equipment. Below you see an overwiew of the equipment variants, the optional equipment
and the characteristics of the US export models:
The Luxury-Equipment (L)
These parts were in addition to the standard equipment:
vanity mirror at the right sun screen,
anti-dazzle mirror (after February 73 as standard),
console with trays,
ashtray and cigarette lighter in front (illuminated) and two additional astrays in back of the car,
grip handle at the right roof frame,
glove box lamp, trunk illumination, engine compartment illumination,
electric clock,
hand break warning lamp in combination with a clutch warning lamp,
bumper overriders (after March 75 rubber-stripped bumpers,
chrome trim at the door trims and the side panels,
carpeting in front and in back of the car,
wood decorated instrument panel (after August 73 as standard),
hinged windows in back of the car (2-door models),
trim lines at all four wheel openings and at the entrances,
trim lines at the rain channels and the window-frames,
hub cap trim rings,
double trim line at the body flanks,
chrome trimplate at the exhaust pipe
